What are the different types of gate valves based on bonnet and body connection?
Screwed
bonnet: This simplest design is mostly used for cheap valves.
Bolted
bonnet: This is the most well-known design used for a wide
range of great valves. A joint is
required between the bonnet and the body and a gasket for sealing purposes.
Welded
bonnet: There is no requirement for disassembly. In
comparison to other bolted-bonnet counterparts, they have lightweight.
Pressure-seal
bonnet: This is mostly used for high temperature and
high-pressure applications. The higher the gravity pressure is, the greater the
seal valve is.
What are the applications of gate-valves?
Butt welding or socket end-gate valves are used in
lube oil, steam, feedwater, fuel gas, air, and other systems are the most
typical applications. However, threaded-end gate valves in gaseous, air, or
liquid systems. In low temperature and low-pressure systems such as flanged gate
valves, fire protection systems, water distribution pipelines or water piping
is most commonly used.
